Sweet Treat!

My girls love, love candy corn...I think it's the highlight of Halloween for them.  So when I came upon  these candy corn mini trifles, I thought we had to try them and and also share it with you!

INGREDIENTS

Box of yellow cake mix, plus oil, eggs and water needed to prepare
Yellow food coloring
2 (4 serving size) boxes instant vanilla pudding, plus milk needed to prepare
Orange food coloring
8 oz tub Cool Whip, thawed
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Candy Corn

Prepare cake batter according to instructions, adding yellow food coloring during mixing. Pour batter into a 9x13 inch pan and bake and cool according to box directions.

Prepare instant pudding according to directions on box, adding enough orange color to make it a bright orange. Place pudding in the refrigerator while you prepare the topping.

In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in the Cool Whip until well blended.

Crumble the yellow cake into an even layer in the bottom of each mini trifle bowl. Remove the pudding from the refrigerator and spoon on top of cake layer. Smooth out with the back of your spoon. Pipe whipped topping/cream cheese layer on top with a large star tip. Or, just spoon it on. No one will care.

Top with a candy corn!

Enjoy!

Bridal Show Dessert Table

My lack of posts was due to to fact I was busy getting ready for the Kentlands Mansion Bridal Show in Gaithersburg MD.

I heart anemones!!!

A few weeks back, I featured my inspiration for this table and you can see it here.  I was thrilled with how it turned out!!! I had a blast at the show...loved meeting the brides, their moms, friends and the occasional groom that came along......not quite sure what to make of everything, but being supportive and wondering "how much is this going to cost!!"; which I overheard more than once.

So without further ado, take a look!

Absolutely love this garland created for me by the lovely ladies at Icing Designs...along with sweets tent cards, and favor box gift tags!

Pumpkin Stencils

It seems everyone went pumpkin picking last weekend, including us!  We headed to our favorite farm, Homestead Farm (yes, same farm we went apple picking), and the girls picked a few pumpkins, veggies and yes, more apples.  We also enjoyed some freshly made caramel apples......they were delish!!!!

We also got some of these......

So if you picked pumpkins and are now wondering what to carve on them......checkout these cool Halloween stencils from Better Homes and Gardens.  They have lost of free pumpkin carving stencils for all those pumpkins you brought home.

Halloween at Williams-Sonoma

I apologize my dear readers...I can't believe I haven't posted anything in a week!!!  I have been busy with a few upcoming events which I'll get to in my later posts.  Today, while working on one of those events, I was on the Williams-Sonoma website looking for cake stands.

With Halloween around the corner, I thought I'd  share some treats I discovered on their site to fill your Halloween party with tricks and treats!  What's a Halloween party without a Spooky Black Cat to watch over your treats!  For the bakers out there, take a look at the cupcake kit....so cute and easy!  Great project for the kids to help with! Those of you that don't bake, don't panic.....you can order ready made treats.  They've partnered with Perfect Endings in Napa Valley to bring you some yummy treats like those cupcakes you see here. Take a look!
